Starting Here, Starting Now...CCPOA presents our scholarship recipients for 2005 and 2006Congratulations to all the students! To paraphrase an old Irish blessing: May the toughest days of your future be no worse than the easiest days of your past. To our members and other readers, I say take a look at these faces: this is our future of California-and beyond. They are the promises of better times ahead, they are the problem solvers of hard times to come, the creators of dreams, the answers to questions we haven't asked yet. They are determined, excited, dedicated, ready, willing and able. To the students whose faces beautify these pages, I say, look around. Look at the photos next to yours. Learn the names of the students who will be attending the same college as you. This is your generation. These are your people. When you go out into the world, remember your history, where you came from. You're working hard to reach your goals, to realize your dreams. Hold fast to your inner character along the way. And remember, knowledge is power. Starting here, starting now, use that power positively. The institutes of higher learning listed under the students' names reflect the schools they indicated they were going to attend or were already attending.
