CCPOA - Member Resources
The Logistics Department is the operations division of CCPOA. Our mission covers the areas of Membership Services, Finance/Accounting and Personnel. We also provide support to our other three Departments in matters of budgeting and various other interdepartmental issues. Of primary importance is the facilitation of CCPOA's work flow. Membership Services is dedicated to facilitating membership inquiries and requests regarding membership status, name and address changes, RTB donations/items, and meeting particulars. Membership Services is responsible for the arranging and facilitation of the annual CCPOA Conference/Convention, all Board Meetings and the statewide Chapter meetings. Additionally, this division of Logistics works with responsible individuals coordinating special events, such as the California Police and Fire Games and the Annual Victims March on the Capitol. In this division, the membership data base is constantly updated and generates the reports necessary to the function of the Logistics department and CCPOA as a whole. The Peacekeeper Magazine, the publication expressly directed to CCPOA's membership, is coordinated and compiled solely in-house and is a first class publication with a mission to keep the membership at large informed on all issues of impact to their various classifications. Finance and Accounting is entrusted to keep the CCPOA Financial ship afloat. Balancing the budget is a very weighty responsibility and the Chief of Logistics, the Finance Committee and support staff undertake to always adhere to their fiduciary obligation and to the goals of the organization. In this regard, status reports are generated to the Executive Council and the Board of Directors on a regular basis. Human Resources The Human Resources Department has a duty to the membership, management and employees of CCPOA to maintain all personnel records and protect their confidentiality; to consult with our Legal Department on all matters pertaining to employee and management rights and to keep the organization's interests of primary concern. HR is also involved in the recruitment and selection of staff and the orientation of same. Other essential functions include record keeping; reporting to management; employee relations; determining training needs; and, in cooperation with management, the development of the CCPOA Employee Handbook outlining our policies and procedures. It is the goal of the Logistics Department to support all facets of the CCPOA organization. |
