May 9, 2007 - Pay Arb Update

As of early this afternoon we have turned over the "pay arb" list to the State Controllers office. This was done after more than a month of diligent effort by CCPOA to catch and rectify errors. Those members that took the time and effort to return the form to us helped this process immensely. Those who called with concerns, generated by our mailing of the preliminary information also contributed greatly to this process. We have identified all the errors that we can, given the information available to us, and have now concluded this process. During this entire "reconciliation" the moneys accrued interest, which will be fully and equally distributed to all members that earned a portion of the award.

As per the arbitrator's decision, as well as information received from the controller, the award will begin to be distributed within the next 10 workdays. CCPOA does not have any further information or involvement regarding disbursements. As this is written, the controllers office is determining the monthly amount based upon the number of qualified members each month. This information should be available early tomorrow and CCPOA will provide that information when we receive it.

January 18, 2007 - Pay Arb Decision

To: CCPOA Board of Directors January 18, 2007
CCPOA Members

Late this morning, Arbitrator A. Cohn finalized the arbitration concerning implementation of the "Law Enforcement Methodology". The ruling mandates that the sum of 200 million dollars be placed into an interest bearing account within ten days of this award. These monies will be distributed to eligible Unit 6 members after CCPOA and the State have determined individual eligibility. This disbursement should take place, barring any difficulties, somewhere between 60 and 90 days from now. CCPOA will be distributing a claim form to help facilitate this process next week, at the State Board of Directors meeting in Ontario.

The award also grants a pay raise effective immediately of 3.125% that should be reflected on your January pay warrant. Also on your January pay warrant as per this award you will see an increase to the employer medical contribution equal to the 2006 85/80 rates. This means the States contribution will. increase from current levels to; 1 Party $321, 2 Party $625 and 3 Plus Party $807.

We appreciate the patience you have demonstrated thus far on this issue and we will work diligently to finalize the retroactive payments as quickly as possible. By completing and returning the claim form, you will help us expedite this process. Through your support of CCPOA we were able to accomplish this major victory together,We can get it done - when we all work together. It isn't over yet. Your trust and your support remain our most valuable commodity!
