After 70 mph chase former inmate hits, runs, arrested with meth matter
On May 20 at approximately 4:22 pm a Woodland police officer was on routine patrol in the area of Matmor Road and East Main Street, when he saw the driver of a 1995 Jeep Cherokee pass him southbound on Matmor Road. The officer followed the Jeep and attempted to make a traffic enforcement stop for a seat belt violation on the driver.
After the officer initiated his emergency lights, the driver of the Jeep Cherokee accelerated southbound on Matmor Road and failed to yield to the officer. The driver of the Jeep drove through the posted stop sign at Matmor Road and East Gum Avenue and continued to accelerate as he neared the intersection of Gibson Road...

A 22-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon after leading officers on a vehicle and foot pursuit, the Ukiah Police Department reported.

Dunsmuir man gets prison time for car theft, chase
Douglas Jeremiah Stout, 25, of Dunsmuir, was sentenced on Tuesday in the Siskiyou County Superior Court to 8 years and 8 months in state prison. The sentence was issued by Superior Court Judge Laura Masunaga after Stout was found guilty of felony charges of vehicle theft and flight from a traffic officer with a disregard for safety.
“The defendant had four prison priors and three felony convictions for vehicle theft,” said Siskiyou County Deputy District Attorney Martha Aker. “That is why this was such a steep sentence.”

Fairfield police arrested an El Sobrante parolee Monday night after a short car chase through the city that ended with the suspect running from the car, which had been reported as stolen, and apprehended by a Fairfield K-9, authorities said.

Newark burglary suspect involved in fatal crash dies
One of three burglary suspects involved in a police chase and car crash that killed a Pleasanton man last week has also died, police said.
Rajwaun Watkins, 20, of Oakland and Hayward, died Friday at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley of injuries from the crash, according to a Newark police press release.

A parolee led Hesperia and Victorville sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase through two cities in a stolen vehicle, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Hesperia station officials said Tuesday.
Mark Maxwell, 30, of Hesperia was arrested for possession of stolen property, failure to yield and violating the terms of his parole.

Ventura pursuit, hit-and-run ends in arrest
A pursuit that led police weaving through Ventura neighborhoods ended in with the arrest of a parolee.
Ventura police received calls about some suspects casing vehicles on Glen Ellen Drive near Carol Street at shortly before 4 a.m. Friday. Responding officers spotted a suspicious vehicle leaving the area and tried to pull it over.

Watsonville Man Leads Gilroy Police On High-Speed Chase
A Watsonville man was arrested Saturday afternoon after leading Gilroy police on a high-speed vehicle pursuit.
Christian Rodriguez, 21, a parolee, evaded police after officers attempted to make a traffic stop when he was spotted exiting the Econo Furniture parking lot at 7390 Monterey St. at a high rate of speed.

CHP nabs parolee after roundabout chase near Martinez
An at-large parolee thought he could drive circles around the California Highway Patrol, but ended up just making himself dizzy before he was chased down and arrested.
The chase started about 8:45 a.m. Thursday after an officer stopped a gray 1993 Toyota Camry for driving onto an offramp and then darting back into freeway traffic on westbound Highway 4 near the Interstate 680 interchange, Officer Tom Maguire said.

Parolee arrested following Highland car chase
Sheriff's deputies arrested a parolee Wednesday after he led them on a high-speed chase through Highland and Redlands.
