“Non-violent, non-serious parolee” gets shot and charged with attempted murder
A parolee was shot in the arm and arrested after she tried to ram her vehicle into the patrol cars of officers who were conducting a narcotics investigation.
Sonia Hawley, 32, of Fontana was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga Saturday for attempted murder. She is being held in lieu of $1 million.

They are not old enough to vote, have full driving privileges, join the military or buy a beer. Yet, three reputed teen gang members charged in San Jose's Halloween night attack on a pair of young trick-or-treaters face the very real prospect of spending the rest of their lives in prison.
Locked up in the Santa Clara County Jail, these 15- and 16-year-old boys now find themselves a portrait of the ongoing debate over imprisoning violent juvenile offenders for life. That is the potential sentence if these high-school-age defendants are convicted of the most serious charges against them, including the attempted murders of the 12- and 13-year-old victims.

Suspect in attack on officer gets hearing set
An August preliminary hearing date has been set for a convicted Vallejo holdup man arrested last year on attempted murder charges following an attack on a county jail correctional officer.
Solano County Superior Court Judge William C. Harrison on Thursday scheduled 10:30 a.m. Aug. 18 for a preliminary court hearing into the charges against 30-year-old Fred Feleki Martinez of Vallejo.
