Schwarzegger prison bond proposal. CCPOA President Mike Jimenez testified this week before the Assembly Public Safety Committee on the Governor's bond proposal, as it relates to prison construction and the housing of inmates. Jimenez pointed out that the governor used "reverse math" to determine the number of inmate beds needed - basing it on how much he wanted to spend rather than on what's actually needed to deal with future inmate population growth. The governor's bean-counters also used a six-year-old report to estimate the number of county jail beds needed...
