Shasta County: Re-entry site rejected
Consideration of a state re-entry facility in Shasta County for rehabilitating prison inmates and reducing repeat offenders died quickly Tuesday, with the county Board of Supervisors voting 5-0 against it.
Several residents who attended Tuesday's morning and afternoon board meetings called the re-entry facility a prison in disguise. Others likened the state's plan to a biting rattlesnake or a Trojan horse. Most agreed that by any name or appearance, it wasn't to be trusted.
