Parolee arrested this morning for evading Eureka officer

A short car chase in Eureka this morning ended when the driver of an SUV jumped from his vehicle and entered a nearby residence through a window.

Zachary Scott, 31, was arrested for felony evading, resisting arrest, hit and run, driving on an expired license and parole violation. According to a press release from the Eureka Police Department, Scott was driving a white 1993 Isuzu Rodeo near the 100 block of West Harris Street around 2:30 a.m. when an officer began following him.

Scott drove northbound on California Street from a gas station, turned west on West Henderson Street and then made a quick southbound turn onto Union Street. The release said the officer witnessed Scott slide through the intersection of Union and West Russ streets, striking the curb of West Russ Street...
