Parolee arrested after crashing into tree while fleeing from Pittsburg police
A man on parole and probation for previous attempts to elude police was arrested this afternoon after he fled from officers and crashed into a tree, police said.
A man driving a gold 1991 Acura sedan was spotted by police about 12:30 p.m. playing his stereo loud, in violation of a vehicle code, said Lt. Brian Addington. When officers tried to stop his car near Ramona Street and Marks Boulevard, he sped off for a short distance, going through a stop light and then hitting a tree on Sierra Drive.
The man ran from the car after the crash and made his way through back yards in the neighborhood before he was arrested after a struggle with officers, Addington said. One officer suffered minor injuries while hopping fences during the chase but did not require treatment. The suspect was not injured…
