Five arrested after high-speed chase in Watsonville after bailing from car outside police station
Five suspected gang members including two wanted men were arrested Wednesday after police and CHP officers chased a Chevy Impala 11 miles through Watsonville.
About 4:45 p.m. near Freedom Boulevard and Brennan Street, Watsonville police saw a prison parolee who was a passenger in a maroon Impala with four other men, said Sgt. Henry Robles.
Officers tried to pull over the Impala near East Fifth Street and Jefferson Street, but it drove away, Robles said. Police turned on sirens and chased the car to an alley where parolee Patrick Diaz, 19, of Watsonville jumped out, Robles said.
