Changes made in Delco prisoner-release process
In the wake of the mistaken releases of at least four inmates, the Delaware County Council announced Tuesday that changes had been made in how prisoner releases would be handled and that other changes were in the works.
The council is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the releases and may further review policies and procedures. County detectives are also investigating the releases.
The changes at the privately run George W. Hill Correctional Facility in Thornbury Township include having a sergeant and lieutenant at the prison to oversee the release process...
