Arizona: Supervisors Shelve Ruling on Proposed Private Prison

County Manager Ron Walker reminded the dozens of speakers that Monday's agenda items dealt with land use issues and not about the track record of the prison's potential builder and manager Corrections Corporation of America. At previous meetings, several speakers questioned CCA's record including the number of escapes, assaults and riots at CCA's other prisons located in other states. Like at previous meetings, most of the speakers spoke out Monday against the prison. The key issue is the amount of water the prison would use.
