Vallecito Conservation Camp:
October 3 – An officer observed a vehicle slowly moving up the road stopping and turning its lights off. Approximately two minutes later the vehicle turned its lights back on and quickly drove away. A few minutes later, two Southern Hispanic inmates ran out of camp to pick up the drop. The officer ordered the inmates to get down. One inmate complied and the second inmate turned to run back toward the camp dorm. The officer ran toward the inmate in an attempt to bring him to the ground. The inmate ran out of sight and disappeared. The officer then escorted the first inmate to the officer and then went back to the road and found a duffle bag containing contraband tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, cell phones and pornography. The yard was immediately recalled and unclothed body searches were conducted on several inmates matching the description of the second inmate, who was identified. Both the inmates were rehoused at SCC for higher custody.
