February 10 – During yard release of 100 plus inmates with two officer positions, a black inmate refused one of the officer’s orders to stand behind the security gate. The inmate suddenly attacked the two officers, biting one officer in the face and taking a chunk of flesh. The other officer sustained bruises to the elbow and wrist. After the incident, a kite was found which gave black inmates the green light to assault staff.
November 2010

November 4 – While conducting a security check in Ad Seg, an inmate threw an unknown liquid at an officer, striking the officer in the face. The liquid also made contact with another officer’s body. The inmate stated “Now you can taste my piss!” The inmate refused to exit the cell and could not be extracted due to the lack of staff on first watch. Both officers were treated at the hospital and returned to work.

August 2010

August 28 – ISU and Visiting Staff conducted a search of a female visitor. During the search staff discovered four tablets of a controlled substance wrapped in tissue paper concealed in her bra. The visitor was arrested and booked into Monterey County jail.

As on August 28 – While an LVN administered direct observation medication, an inmate became argumentative and threw a cup striking the LVN on her ankle. The inmate was rehoused in Ad Seg.
 

July 2010

July 7 – While an officer was passing out supplies, an inmate threw a bar of soap at the officer.

January 2010

January 2 – At a pill window, an inmate became agitated and threw a request form striking, the LVN in the chest.
