April 2011
April 2 – A search warrant was served on a female visitor. The search resulted in approximately 1.2 grams of heroin in her bra. The visitor was subsequently arrested and transported to a local jail.
February 2010
FEBRUARY 15 -- An officer was escorting an inmate to a walk alone yard when the inmate suddenly kicked the officer in the shin. The officer forced the inmate to the ground and waited for responding staff. While the inmate was being escorted from the scene, he unsuccessfully tried to head-butt a second officer.
January 2010
January 30 – During an escort, an inmate lunged toward a medical staff member. While the officer pulled the inmate away, the inmate turned and struck the officer in the forehead. The officer was seen by medical staff and remained on duty.
January 3 – An inmate in restraints spit on a registered nurse. She was provided medical attention and returned to her duties.
June 2009
June 12 - An inmate was in handcuffs and leg restraints inside a temporary holding cell in AD Seg. The Ad Seg search and escort officer informed the inmate he was going to escort him back to his cell. The officer opened the holding cell door and took hold of the inmates arm. The inmate stated "I'm not going" and kicked the officer in the shin. The officer released the inmate and secured the cell door without further incident. The officer sustained redness on the shin but remained on duty.
June 7 - In Facility A Building 5, an inmate refused to lock-up when ordered to do so. The floor officer placed the inmate into restraints and as the officer escorted the inmate to a holding cell, the inmate began to resist, turned and spit on the officer. The inmate was taken to ground and placed into a spit mask without further incident. The officer remained on duty.
May 2009
May 25 - An officer observed an inmate masturbating and ordered the inmate to pull up his pants and cuff up. The inmate refused to comply with staff orders. The officer received assistance from her partner and they place the inmate in handcuffs and escorted him to the program office without further incident.
April 2009
April 19 - An officer was uncuffing an inmate through a food port when the inmate attempted to pull the officer's wrist into the cell with the cuff still attached. The officer maintained control of the remaining cuff and used his free hand to spray the inmate with pepper spray. The officer was contaminated by the back splash of pepper spray. The officer was treated at the facility medical clinic.
March 2009
March 18 - An inmate committed battery on staff during the evening meal's inmate mass movement. The inmate sat on a yard bench and refused verbal orders to return to his housing unit. As staff approached and attempted to handcuff the inmate, he became combative resulting in staff injuries. One officer sustained abrasion on the face, and forearms, the second officer sustained a swollen lip. The third, fourth and fifth officers were exposed to pepper spray.
December 2008
December 18 – While responding to a mutual combat between inmates in a gym, an officer's knee struck a metal stool that was connected to the floor. The Officer tried to continue, but was unable to walk. Responding staff used pepper spray to stop the inmates from fighting. The officer was transported to an outside hospital. The officer sustained a displaced tibea fracture. Surgery is needed to correct the displaced bone. One of the inmates was re-housed in Ad-Seg.
June 2008
June 17 - While escorting an LVN for medication distribution, and inmate became hostile. The officer reached out to retrieve the medication and the inmate grabbed the officer's hand. The inmate proceeded to punched the officer and the LVN. The officer utilized pepper spray to stop the attack. The officer sustained redness and swelling to the hand and wrist.
April 2008
April 13 - An inmate committed battery on two Officers causing bleeding from the nose and redness to the other Officers face. Responding staff used OC pepper spray and physical force to stop the incident. All staff were treated and released.
April 13 - While conducting clothed body searches in Facility B, an inmate turned and began punching an Officer in the face. Another Officer began to help the Officer but was also attacked by the assailant. The first Officer sustained facial injuries and was treated at an outside medical facility. The second Officer was seen by medical staff within the institution.
April 5 - The FAB5 Floor Officer #2 was instructed to escort an AD-Seg inmate from his cell. When the Officer opened the food port to place handcuffs on the inmate, the inmate put his hands behind him for the handcuffs to be placed. As the Officer was handcuffing the inmate, the inmate turned and grabbed the Officer's left wrist just past his watch and pulled the Officer's hand and forearm into the cell using the Officer's watch as leverage. O.C. pepper spray was utilized and the inmate released his grip on the Officer's arm. The Officer was evaluated by on-site medical staff, no injuries were reported.
April 2 - On the North Exercise Yard, an Officer ordered an inmate to submit to being placed in handcuffs and the inmate refused. The Officer began to place the inmate on the ground when the inmate struck the Officer in the face. The Officer received medical care at an outside hospital.
