November 2010

November 19 –As officers were performing a cell extraction, the inmate charged towards the shield while swinging his arms and fists. Officers forced the inmate down on the bottom bunk as the inmate continued to be combative by kicking with both legs and swinging his arms over the shield. The inmate was forcibly handcuffed and escorted out of his cell. Two officers were transported to an outside hospital for possible exposure to blood borne pathogens and treatment of a shoulder injury and broken hand.

September 2010

September 27 – An inmate was discovered sitting in the dayroom with injuries consistent with being in a physical altercation. After further investigation, it was determined the inmate was battered with a weapon by his cellmate. The assailant was discovered to have a stabbing weapon in his back pocket. Both inmates were rehoused in Ad Seg.

August 2010

August 27 – An inmate ripped up paperwork and then threw it at an officer; striking the officer’s chin. The alarm was activated and the inmate got down in a prone position.

July 2010

July 29 – While being escorted, an Ad Seg inmate kicked the escorting officer in the leg. The officer used physical force to bring the inmate to a prone position.

June 2010

June 23 – While an officer was removing handcuffs from an Ad Seg inmate, the inmate pulled away from the officer, causing the key to break off inside the handcuffs and the officer’s hand to strike the food port. The sergeant was notified and the inmate relinquished the handcuffs without further incident.

May 2010

May 16 – During a clothed-body search, an officer discovered a cell phone and attempted to place handcuffs on the inmate. The inmate tried to flee, striking the officer in the torso with his elbow. The officer used physical force to restrain the inmate. Later, marijuana was discovered in the inmate’s bunk area. 

March 2010

MARCH 1 --  An inmate was discovered to have a four-inch laceration above his eye, requiring 11 sutures. All inmates were given an unclothed body search. Two inmates were discovered to have injuries of a physical altercation nature. All three inmates were rehoused in Ad Seg.

February 2010

 

FEBRUARY 7 --  An inmate battered his cell mate inside their assigned cell. Staff responded and the inmate stopped his attack. The injured inmate sustained a laceration above his eye requiring three sutures. 
 
FEBRUARY 6 --  An EOP inmate began yelling “man down.”  As the responding housing unit officer arrived at the cell, the inmate threw a cup of unknown liquid on the officer, striking his face and upper torso. The officer was sent to an outside medical provider and the assailant was housed in Ad Seg.
January 2010

January 3 – While being escorted to a therapy group, an inmate broke free and ran down the stairs. Staff forced the inmate to the ground and escorted him to the nurse’s station. While there, he spat on an officer. Staff forced the inmate to the ground and placed a spit mask on him.

December 2009

December 2 – During the evening meal, an officer was delivering a tray to an inmate who grabbed the officer by the wrist and refused to let go. Staff used pepper spray and the inmate let go of the officer. No staff were injured as a result.

February 2008

February 23 - An inmate in Facility C, Building 1 was exiting his cell for a cell search, he became agitated and struck an Officer on the head. Injuries to the Officer consisted of bruises to the head, upper body and shoulder. The Officer was seen at High Desert Medical Group.
