April 2011

April 3 – Staff observed an inmate and his visitor attempting to exchange contraband in the visiting room. Staff responded and escorted the inmate to the D Visiting area to conduct an unclothed body search, where he was able to flush an unknown quantity of unidentified contraband. Staff did discover one bindle of suspected controlled substance on the floor in the visiting search area. The visitor was escorted to visiting processing where she relinquished custody of seven bindles of marijuana and further admitted to having attempted to introduce a total of 20 bindles of marijuana. The visitor was transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure due to her being pregnant.

July 2010

July 29 – When a supervisor correctional cook opened the freezer door to allow an inmate to retrieve some items, the inmate pushed a cart into the door and knocked the SCC off balance. The inmate then became argumentative, causing the employee to order him to leave the kitchen. The inmate was placed in handcuffs and remanded to Ad Seg. The staff member continued her duties.

February 2010

FEBRUARY 7 --  Two fights occurred simultaneously on Facility D: one on the yard and one in the dining room.  An inmate who sustained approximately 17 stab wounds was transported to an outside hospital.

December 2009

December 4 – While processing an inmate out of the clinic, an officer was attacked by an inmate. The inmate attacked the officer as he was opening the door to the clinic. An LVN activated her personal alarm and responding staff used pepper spray and batons; with positive results. The officer sustained bruising to his face and lacerations to the inside of his hip. The officer was treated and then transported to an outside hospital for further treatment. The officer is home recovering from his injuries.

March 2008

March 6 - Two Hispanic inmates rushed into a cell and attacked two other Hispanic inmates during feeding. OC pepper spray was used to quell the incident.

January 2008

January 15 - On a dayroom floor, an inmate was slashed by another inmate during evening program. The injuries were not life threatening.

January 7 - An inmate was stabbed 14 times. The inmate was transported to an outside medical facility and after treatment was returned to the prison. A suspect has been charged with attempted murder.
