ELECTIONS - Chapter Ballots


SAMPLE BALLOT INSTRUCTIONS

Based on the paperwork received in the CCPOA West Sacramento Headquarters from your respective chapters, a Sample Ballot for your 2005 chapter elections has been produced.

Each member having shown a desire to run for a Chapter Office by sending in their Notice of Intent to Run for Chapter Office, has been checked for membership location, length of membership, etc. This attached Sample Ballot shows those candidates who are eligible to run for office.

ALL SAMPLE BALLOTS, ALONG WITH FORM 15-4 (see above .pdf document), MUST BE POSTED ON YOUR BULLETIN BOARDS IMMEDIATELY.

YOU MUST CALL 1-800-821-6443 BY OCTOBER 14TH AT 5 P.M. IF:
  • You are on the ballot and have decided NOT TO RUN.
  • Your name is spelled incorrectly.
  • Your name does not appear on the right place(s) on the ballot.
IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE NOTICE TO CHANGE THE ATTACHED SAMPLE BALLOT
THIS IS THE BALLOT THAT WILL BE MAILED TO YOUR CHAPTER ON NOVEMBER 1, 2005.



SCHEDULE OF ELECTIONS FOR CHAPTERS


The following schedule shall be utilized for elections at the Chapter level except as provided by Specila Elections:

Prior to September 1 1 nomination form (Notice of Intent to Run For Office) (Form 15-2) will be printed in the Peacekeeper.



September
Above notices must be returned to the CCPOA State Secretary at the CCPOA Main Headquarters submitted/postmarked no later than September 11.

State Secretary and State Credentials Committee to meet between September 15 and 30 to verify Forms (15-2) received and to create sample ballots for Chapters holding elections.

October
State Secretary to mail above document to each involved Chapter President for posting on Chapter Bulletin boards along with this Form 15-4. CCPOA Headquarters must be notified by October 15 of any changes to be made on sample ballot.

November
Ballots to be mailed on or before November 1 to each Chapter member at their address of record on the CCPOA Main Headquarters mailing list. If no ballot is received by November 10, CCPOA Main Headquarters should be contacted and a second ballot will be mailed to the address supplied by the caller.

December
Ballots returned to CCPOA Main Headquarters must be postmarked by November 30 to be valid.

Credentials Committee to count ballots on or about December 10. Credentials Committee to notify each involved Chapter President, as soon as Chapter results have been confirmed. Results to be available at the CCPOA Main Headquarters for other members calling into the Main Headquarters on December 15 by asking the CCPOA Receptionist for the "Election Results Coordinator."

January
Newly elected Chapter Officers/Directors take office on January 1.
